Wind whips my skirt as
I walk in the spring sunshine,
constricting my legs.
Hair is a tress nest
that obstructs my vision and
gets inside my mouth.
Green grass lies down flat
and birds veer off course as Earth
exhales more breezes.
The noon light is full,
but the strong gusts are too cold
for the warmth of May.
It is days like this
that give me a mind to fly
a kite I don't have.
